I believe God calls us all to help using the abilities that He has given us. That's why I assist the community and those in need whenever I can. I also try to instill those values in my children. The way I see it, running for County Commissioner is an extension of that philosophy. There's a need in this county for strong, principled leadership that reflects traditional values. As County Commissioner I will use my abilities to enact policies that will continue to make Jefferson County great for ALL its residents.
Helping Our Airmen
Thanks to President Biden's disastrous Afghanistan exit, many of our fine troops have been sent to the southern border to guard refugees whose identities we can't verify. Typical of this administration, our troops are living in tents in the desert while the refugees are being housed in the barracks. Yesterday I was happy to finish sewing and embroidering 10 blankets for a group of Airmen who are stationed there (it gets cold in the desert at night). It's a small gesture, but hopefully it will put a smile on a few faces. We all have to do our part.
Over the summer, my two youngest teamed up with the neighbors to raise money for Alex's Lemonade Stand for Cancer Research. We're going to be doing a similar stand for Hot Cocoa / Hot Cider once the weather cools down. I'm open to suggestions for worthwhile charities.
Birthright of Jefferson County
The kids were at it again this past weekend. Last time it was boiling hot. This time it was freezing and windy. Braving the cold paid off, however. We were able to raise over $100 for Birthright of Jefferson County.
Birthright is a great organization. The provide goods and services to new and expecting mothers who feel they have nowhere to turn. They help these vulnerable women to realize that choosing life is the right decision.
